AI + BUSINESS

How AI is changing business, and what founders should notice

7 minBusinessProfessionals

AI is not only a tool for saving time. It is changing how companies sell, serve customers, build products, and make decisions.

AI is moving into the operating system of business

The first wave of AI adoption often looks simple: faster emails, faster research, faster summaries. But the deeper change is operational.

Businesses are beginning to redesign workflows around AI: customer support, marketing, sales research, coding, internal knowledge search, training, reporting, and decision support.

The opportunity is not equal everywhere

McKinsey has estimated large economic potential from generative AI, especially in functions such as customer operations, marketing and sales, software engineering, and research and development.

That does not mean every company gets value automatically. AI creates leverage only when the business has clear data, clear processes, and people who know where human review is still required.

What small businesses should do first

Do not begin with a giant AI transformation plan. Begin with one painful repeated process: answering the same customer questions, creating proposals, summarising calls, qualifying leads, or preparing reports.

Measure the before and after. Did quality improve? Did response time improve? Did errors reduce? Did the team understand the risks? Good AI adoption is not magic. It is disciplined experimentation.
